Cliff Chiang biography

Cliff Chiang is an American comic book artist and writer known for his work with major publishers such as DC Comics and Image Comics. He graduated from Harvard University, where he studied English Literature and Visual Arts. Chiang began his career as an assistant editor at Vertigo, an imprint of DC Comics, before transitioning to full-time illustration.

Chiang has illustrated several notable comic book series, including Human Target and Green Arrow & Black Canary for DC Comics. He is widely recognized for his collaboration with writer Brian Azzarello on the DC Comics series Wonder Woman, which launched as part of DC’s New 52 initiative in 2011. Chiang served as the primary artist for much of the series, contributing to its distinctive visual style.

In addition to his work at DC, Chiang co-created the Image Comics series Paper Girls with writer Brian K. Vaughan. The series debuted in 2015 and ran for 30 issues, earning critical acclaim and several industry awards, including the Eisner Award for Best New Series in 2016.

Chiang has also written and illustrated the DC Black Label miniseries Catwoman: Lonely City, which began publication in 2021.
