Christos Skaltsas biography

Christos Skaltsas is an illustrator and animator working across children’s books, educational publishing, and media. He earned a BFA in Animation from the School of Visual Arts and spent several years in film and television production as a layout artist and freelance animator, collaborating on projects associated with Sony Pictures and Paramount Pictures.

Transitioning to publishing, Skaltsas has illustrated for children’s book houses for more than fifteen years, with a focus on educational schoolbooks and preschool activity titles. Publisher listings note work for imprints that include Macmillan, Scholastic, McGraw-Hill, and DK.

Recent credits include the board book My First Book of Bedtime Stories (Lake Press; distributed by Simon & Schuster), created with fellow illustrator Hannah Wood.
