Beatrix Potter was an English author and illustrator best known for her children’s books featuring animals. She was born in 1866 and developed an early interest in nature and art. Potter wrote and illustrated a series of books that have become classics of children’s literature, beginning with The Tale of Peter Rabbit, first published in 1902 by Frederick Warne & Co. Her stories often feature anthropomorphic animal characters and are set in the English countryside.
Potter created a total of 23 little books, including titles such as The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin (1903), The Tale of Benjamin Bunny (1904), and The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck (1908). In addition to her writing and illustration, Potter was also known for her work in land conservation and farming later in life.
Her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, was published in 1902 and has remained in print since its initial release.
