Ann Liang is a Chinese-Australian author known for her young adult novels. She was born in Beijing and grew up in Australia. Liang attended the University of Melbourne, where she studied English and Psychology. Her debut novel, If You Could See the Sun, was published by Inkyard Press in 2022. The book explores themes of class, ambition, and invisibility, set in an elite Beijing international school. Liang’s second novel, This Time It’s Real, was published by Scholastic in 2023. Her work often draws on her experiences as an international student and her multicultural background. In 2022, If You Could See the Sun was named a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection.
