Alice Oseman biography

Alice Oseman is a British author, illustrator, and screenwriter known for her work in young adult fiction and graphic novels. She studied English at Durham University. Oseman’s debut novel, Solitaire, was published by HarperCollins Children’s Books in 2014. She has since written several novels, including Radio Silence, I Was Born for This, and Loveless.

Oseman is also the creator of the graphic novel series Heartstopper, which began as a webcomic in 2016 before being published in print by Hachette Children’s Group. The series follows the relationship between two teenage boys, Nick and Charlie, and has received recognition for its depiction of LGBTQ+ characters and themes.

In addition to her novels and graphic novels, Oseman served as the writer and creator of the Netflix adaptation of Heartstopper, which premiered in 2022. Her work has been acknowledged with several awards, including the YA Book Prize for Loveless in 2021.
